Ramsey Nouah Reveals Financial Struggles in Nollywood

Ramsey Nouah, a veteran in Nollywood, shared insights during an interview with TVC’s E Splash regarding the financial realities of releasing films in Nigerian cinemas. He pointed out that only a small percentage of films released manage to recover their production costs and yield a return on investment.

Nouah emphasized that many producers fail to recoup their investments, even after spending heavily on advertising and promotion. His comments follow filmmaker Kunle Afolayan's earlier remarks about the pressures on filmmakers to create promotional content, which he found exhausting.

Afolayan expressed a desire for alternative marketing strategies. In response, Akindele defended her promotional methods, explaining that her approach of incorporating dance was a practical solution to limited marketing budgets.

She also shared her personal sacrifices while producing "Behind The Scenes," which grossed ₦2.7 billion at the Nigerian box office, highlighting the dedication required in the industry.
