YCee Reveals No Royalties Despite 100M Streams

Rapper YCee disclosed during a recent appearance on the Afropolitan Podcast that he has never received royalties from his music, despite achieving over 100 million streams. He explained that his contract with a previous label included a 70-30 split, but the label claimed it had not recouped its investment, which is why he has not received any royalty payments.

YCee recounted the time when he signed the contract, noting that his song's success led to endorsement deals and opportunities to travel, creating an outward appearance of financial success. However, he expressed that the financial situation did not make sense within his relationship with the previous label.

YCee, who has faced mental health challenges and took a hiatus from the public eye in 2020, has recently returned to the music scene with a new album titled "Double Side," featuring 14 tracks that showcase his range as both a rapper and singer.
