REA MD Welcomes New Board Appointments by President Tinubu

Dr. Abba Aliyu, the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), welcomed the recent appointments of Ayo Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State, Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar, and Engin Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta to the agency's governing board.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, following a statement from the Special Adviser to the President on Strategic Communications, Bayo Onanuga. Dr.

Aliyu commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for these appointments, noting that they represent "round pegs in round holes" and will provide invaluable expertise to advance the agency's mission of delivering reliable electricity to underserved communities across Nigeria. He highlighted Fayose's achievements during his tenure as governor, particularly in prioritizing rural development and infrastructure projects.

The appointments are effective immediately, with Fayose serving as the chairman of the REA board, while Alhaji Abubakar and Engin Ilyasu will serve as non-executive board members.
