Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal Defects to APC from PDP

On Monday, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal officially announced his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement issued by Nuhu Salihu Anka, the Director General of the Governor's Media Team, Lawal explained that his decision followed extensive consultations with political stakeholders.

He highlighted ongoing leadership disputes and unresolved structural challenges within the PDP at both national and state levels, which have created uncertainty and hindered effective governance. Lawal emphasized that his primary responsibility is to ensure peace, security, and development in Zamfara State.

Consequently, he deemed it necessary to align with a political platform that would foster greater unity, stability, and cooperation with the federal government for the benefit of the people of Zamfara.
