Kwankwasiyya Movement Remains Strong Amid Defections

Habibu Saleh, the spokesperson for the Kwankwasiyya Movement, addressed the recent defection of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that the Kwankwasiyya Movement remains intact and strong. In an interview with Daily Post, Saleh highlighted that defections are not new to the movement, recalling that former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje's departure also led to a significant number of political loyalists leaving, yet the movement was able to regain power.

He expressed confidence that the Kwankwasiyya Movement would reorganize and return stronger, similar to past experiences. Saleh also noted that internal divisions within the ruling structure in Kano are poorly managed, which could work in favor of Kwankwaso in the upcoming elections.

He pointed out a lack of clarity regarding the political trajectory of Kwankwaso, which he believes contributes to misunderstandings about his influence.
