Wike and PDP Governors to Meet for Reconciliation Talks

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) is scheduled to hold a reconciliation meeting on Monday, led by Nyesom Wike and the camps of various governors. This meeting follows a series of conflicts stemming from the party's November 15 convention in Ibadan, which resulted in a leadership crisis and legal disputes.

The national working committee, led by Tanimu Turaki, is involved in the reconciliation process, as confirmed by the party's national secretary, Ini Ememobong. The court has ruled that the outcomes of the convention were invalid, leading to a chaotic situation at the party's secretariat.

The faction loyal to Wike has formed a 13-member caretaker committee, with a mandate to resolve the ongoing issues. Previous meetings have occurred, but no decisions have been finalized.

The reconciliation efforts are crucial as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections, with a focus on harmonizing the factions and addressing the identified issues.
