NERC Mandates 20-Hour Daily Power Supply for Band A Customers

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is enforcing a policy to ensure Band A customers receive a minimum of 20 hours of electricity supply daily, with automatic compensation triggered if distribution companies fail to meet the standard. This initiative, discussed during a town hall radio program, is part of efforts to enhance transparency and protect consumers in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

NERC officials, including Olisa Chukwuma and Abdulaziz Aloba, are overseeing the implementation of this framework, which includes monitoring power delivery data from various sources to track performance and apply necessary sanctions.
