Dickson Urges NDC Candidates to Stay Amid Court Ruling

Seriak Dickson, a leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), called on presidential candidates Peter Obi and Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, along with other party members, to remain with the NDC despite a recent judgment by the Federal High Court in Lokoja. The court set aside a previous ruling that affected the party's registration status.

Dickson made this appeal during an interview on Sunday, addressing concerns that candidates might abandon the party following the court's decision. He assured members that the NDC would not be deregistered and would continue to participate in the 2027 general elections.

Dickson emphasized the importance of unity within the party and dismissed speculation regarding the party's stability. He stated that the NDC is pursuing legal remedies against the Lokoja judgment and expressed confidence in the Nigerian judiciary.

He reassured members that the party would upload its candidate list to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal in due time.
