Rep Abdussamad Dasuki Joins ADC, Critiques INEC Leadership

On March 15, 2026, Rep Abdussamad Dasuki formally resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during an event in Dogon Daji Salah Ward, Tambuw LGA, Sokoto State. Dasuki criticized the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Prof Joash Amupitan, alleging that it poses a threat to Nigeria's multi-party democracy by colluding to stifle opposition parties.

He expressed concerns over recent political developments that aim to weaken opposition voices and undermine democratic principles, specifically citing INEC's refusal to recognize the leadership of David Mark in the ADC. Dasuki called on citizens, civil society organizations, and the international community to remain vigilant and defend democratic institutions.

He emphasized the importance of youth participation in politics and stated that his decision to join the ADC was motivated by a desire to address Nigeria's socio-economic and political challenges.
