Sokoto Rep Dasuki: Federal Funds Can Support N150,000 Wage

Rep Abdussamad Dasuki, representing Kebbi Tambuwal Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, asserted that the state's increased federal allocation over the past three years, particularly in the last quarter of 2023, is sufficient to sustain a minimum wage of N150,000 for civil servants. He highlighted the importance of prudent resource management to improve social services, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture.

Dasuki addressed the challenges faced by Sokoto State, including high poverty rates and poor healthcare delivery. He also expressed concern for retired civil servants, advocating for improved pension benefits and dignified retirement.

Furthermore, he announced initiatives aimed at empowering youth through ICT skills and entrepreneurship programs, including the provision of laptops to 70 students in higher institutions. Dasuki reaffirmed his commitment to projects like the Dogon Daji earth dam, which is part of broader efforts to enhance agricultural and rural economic development.
