Reps Urge Flyovers, Bridges on Kaduna Highways for Safety

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives called for the urgent construction of flyovers and pedestrian bridges along the Kaduna Eastern Bye Pass and the Kaduna Zaria Highway. This motion was initiated by Hon.

Hussaini Moham Jallo, who highlighted the rising number of road accidents and pedestrian fatalities occurring daily along these routes. The current construction of the Kaduna Zaria Highway has been cited as a contributing factor to the alarming rate of pedestrian-related accidents, particularly in densely populated communities that the highway divides.

The increase in population growth has led to constant movement of residents, traders, and students across the road, necessitating the construction of pedestrian bridges and flyovers. These structures are deemed critical for preventing loss of lives and property, improving traffic flow, and supporting urban development in Kaduna and its surrounding areas.
