Gwamna Withdraws from Gombe Governorship Race

Dr. Jamil Isiyaka Gwamna, the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, has officially withdrawn from the Gombe State governorship race.

In a press statement, he noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has made preparations to ensure electoral success in the forthcoming polls. Gwamna expressed his interest in contesting for the governorship seat but stated he would await the party's decision on the mode of primary elections.

He affirmed that the consensus option adopted by the party is valid and aligns with the party's principles. Gwamna expressed confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, describing them as committed democrats.

He called on party loyalists across the state to support the party's position and work towards ensuring victory for the APC in the next elections, particularly the 2027 general elections.
