Reps Committee Supports NDPHC on Ikot Abasi Project

The House of Representatives Committee on Public Assets, chaired by Honourable Ademorin Kuye, has committed to collaborating with the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) to resolve funding issues and community concerns that have stalled the Ikot Abasi 330kV Double Circuit Transmission Line Project (Lot 18T). Following an inspection of the project site, Kuye emphasized the importance of reviving this critical infrastructure to enhance electricity supply and stimulate economic growth.

He noted that both NDPHC and the contractor are prepared to resume work once outstanding challenges are addressed, including the payment of remaining compensation to the community. Kuye praised the local community for safeguarding project materials during the work suspension and reiterated the need for cooperation among federal, state, and local governments to ensure the project's completion, which is vital for the socio-economic development of Akwa Ibom State and surrounding areas.
