Plateau State to Host Security Summit on Tuesday

The House of Representatives is set to convene a security summit in Plateau State on Tuesday, aimed at addressing the root causes of ongoing security challenges in the region. Mr.

Wale Ham, the chairman of the House ad hoc committee on security, disclosed this during a visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang's office. The summit, themed "Restoring Stability through Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Security in Plateau State," will include participation from various stakeholders, including government representatives, former governors, traditional institutions, security agencies, civil society organizations, religious bodies, academia, and the general public.

The event is expected to provide a platform for inclusive dialogue, allowing participants to share insights and contribute to strategies for fostering collaboration and strengthening unity to promote lasting peace. Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo expressed the state government's full support for the summit and emphasized the importance of peace for development.

The summit is anticipated to draw participants from all 17 local government areas in Plateau State.
