IGP to Present Alleged PFIPC DG Before Reps Committee

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, is scheduled to produce Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew, who claims to be the Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council/Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PFIPC/PEAC), before the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on Wednesday. This committee is investigating the inclusion of the purported council in the 2026 Appropriation Act.

The directive was issued by Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, the Chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee, during an investigative hearing attended by the Accountant-General of the Federation, Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi. The committee plans to summon 12 officials from various government offices linked to the alleged scandal.

Gagdi stated that the investigation aims to identify institutional weaknesses and prevent future occurrences. He noted that the National Assembly would also be questioned regarding the budget's passage despite the alleged irregularities.

The Nigeria Police has submitted five exhibits, including a forged Act of the National Assembly and documents related to a furniture supply contract.
