Gbajabiamila Cleared of PFIPC Scandal by Reps Probe

The House of Representatives has exonerated Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, from any involvement in the alleged activities of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). An ad hoc committee's preliminary findings indicated that Gbajabiamila neither authorized nor approved the establishment of the PFIPC.

The committee found that a purported appointment letter linking his office to the council did not originate from the State House. The investigation also uncovered approximately 58 bank accounts allegedly connected to Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the detained Director-General of the PFIPC, along with an alleged N400 million transaction currently under investigation.

Yusuf Gagdi, the committee chairman, stated that evidence showed Gbajabiamila acted promptly by alerting relevant security and investigative agencies upon receiving concerns about the PFIPC. The committee commended his timely intervention and confirmed that the evidence did not implicate him in the council's activities.
