Nigerian House of Representatives Summons Ministers and Auditor General Over Agricultural Funds Mismanagement

The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating agricultural subsidies and intervention funds has summoned the Auditor General of the Federation, along with the Ministers of Finance and Agriculture, over the release and expenditure of agricultural funds from 2015 to 2025. The committee expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of proper documentation and audit reports for several agricultural programs.

The Deputy Director of the Auditor General's Office cited delays in producing reports due to the non-availability of key documents from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. The lawmakers have directed the Auditor General, alongside the Ministries of Agriculture and Finance, to appear before the committee on February 3 to address the issues.
