Nigerian Lawmakers Alarmed by Insecurity and Flood Disasters in Plateau Communities

Members of the House of Representatives in Nigeria, particularly from Plateau State, have raised alarm over the increasing insecurity and devastating flood disasters affecting communities in Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam federal constituencies. The lawmakers highlighted the prevalence of banditry, kidnappings, cattle rustling, and environmental degradation, with specific mention of the dire situation in the Garga area of Kanam local government.

They also lamented the abduction of traditional rulers, loss of lives, displacement of residents, and theft of cattle. Urgent calls were made for enhanced security measures, humanitarian assistance, and relief efforts to mitigate the worsening crisis.
