Kidnap Victim Gives Birth to Twins at Kogi IDP Camp

A kidnap victim recently rescued has given birth to twins at a Kogi Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the state commissioner for information, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Lokoja.

The identity of the mother has been withheld for security reasons. Governor Usman Ododo has directed the state security advisory commission and health officials to ensure the immediate transfer of the mother and her newborns to a state specialist hospital for comprehensive medical attention and postnatal care.

The mother and babies are reported to be in stable condition. The Kogi State Government has established the IDP camp as a temporary rehabilitation center for rescued kidnap victims, providing them with care and support for reintegration into their families.

Fanwo noted that the number of rescued victims in the camp continues to increase, reaffirming the government's commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of these individuals and commending the ongoing security operations as a sustained success in the fight against crime in the state.
