Rescued Kidnap Victim Gives Birth to Twins in Kogi

A woman who was recently rescued from kidnapping has given birth to twin girls at an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Kogi State. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information, disclosed this information in a statement on Monday, while the identity of the mother was withheld for security reasons.

Governor Ahm Usman Ododo has directed the State Security Advisers Commission on Health to ensure the immediate transfer of the mother and her newborns to a state specialist hospital for comprehensive medical attention and postnatal care. Both the mother and babies are reported to be in stable condition and receiving adequate care.

The state government has established the IDP camp as a temporary rehabilitation center for victims rescued from kidnapping and criminal elements, providing medical care, counseling, and support to help victims reunite with their families. Fanwo noted that ongoing security operations across the state have led to an increase in the number of rescued victims.
