Woman Rescued After Giving Birth by Roadside in FCT

A woman, suspected to be mentally unstable, was rescued after giving birth by the roadside in Kwaita Village, located in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, who issued a statement on Sunday.

The command received a distress report during a routine patrol, prompting the rapid response squad to mobilize to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the mother and her newborn baby girl safe.

Both were subsequently taken to a general hospital in Kwali for medical attention. After receiving care, they were later discharged in stable condition.

Adeh also mentioned that the welfare office of the Kwali Area Council, led by Sadiq Kwali, was contacted as part of standard procedures. The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Ahmad Mohammed Sanusi, commended the officers involved for their prompt and professional handling of the situation.
