Nigerian Resident Doctors to Begin Indefinite Strike Over Unmet Demands

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) in Nigeria, under the leadership of President Mohammed Usman Suleiman, has decided to embark on an indefinite strike starting from October 31, 2025. The decision follows a 5-hour extraordinary meeting of the association's executive council.

The strike action is a result of the government's failure to meet the demands of resident doctors, including issues related to unpaid wages, poor welfare, and inadequate working conditions. The NARD has accused the government of harboring evil plans against resident doctors and has called on its members to stand united.
