Retired Paramilitary Chiefs Praise Tinubu's Salary Approval

Retired senior officers from four paramilitary agencies commended President Bola Tinubu for the approval of a lifetime salary structure for retired officers, which is set to take effect in 2025. This approval, which covers retired personnel from the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, and other agencies, was highlighted during a visit to the Minister of Interior, Dr.

Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, in Abuja. The retired officers expressed their gratitude for the federal government's new welfare arrangement, which they noted had been unresolved by previous administrations for an extended period.

Former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Chukwura Udeh, emphasized that this decision brings relief to those who have dedicated years of service. Tunji Ojo reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that retired officers do not face hardship after their service, aiming to restore dignity and pride to those who served the nation.
