Tinubu Urged to Resolve Military Pension Board Dispute

A group led by Olasunkanmi Olaniyi has called on President Tinubu to address a dispute concerning the military pension board. The group highlighted that although Abubakar was appointed to the board, he has not assumed his duties due to alleged instructions from the Defence Headquarters that may create a conflict of interest.

The statement referenced previous heads of the board, including J. Awosika (1975-1976), Onoch (1976-1977), Fakumoju (1977-1978), and D.

Usman (1978-1979), emphasizing the challenges faced by retired officers in leading the board. The group pointed out the appointment of Colonel Hame Ali (retd), who was the head of the Nigerian Customs Service during former President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.

They urged President Tinubu to intervene in the situation, noting that the organization Abubakar represents includes regions such as the Northeast and has the support of the Arewa Youth Assembly.
