Maiduguri Airport Upgraded for International Flights - President Tinubu Renames Airport

Maiduguri Airport has been renamed Muhammadu Buhari International Airport by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to facilitate international operations. The airport, established in 1950, is being upgraded by the Borno State government in collaboration with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The renovation aims to modernize the facility and enhance its infrastructure to support international flights, including Hajj operations. Acting Airport Manager Ibrahim Bello and Governor Babagana Umara Zulum are leading the efforts to revamp the airport.

This development is crucial for improving connectivity and promoting economic growth in the region.
