ADC Urges INEC for Credible 2027 Elections in Rivers

The Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), under the leadership of State Chairman Dr. Chukwudi Dimkpa, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to fulfill its responsibility of conducting free, fair, and credible elections in 2027.

During a statement made in Port Harcourt, Dimkpa expressed expectations that INEC would act professionally and transparently, ensuring that every vote counts and every voter matters. He acknowledged concerns regarding previous elections and emphasized the need for continuous engagement in the electoral process.

Dimkpa also urged the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, to reduce his influence on the political landscape, advocating for a competitive environment where all political parties can seek mandates from the people. The ADC aims to build a strong grassroots structure and present credible candidates who can address Nigeria's challenges, focusing on merit and a clear agenda for development.

Dimkpa reiterated the party's commitment to strengthening electoral structures and investing in voter education.
