Rivers APC Crisis: Court Reserves Ruling on Local Government Chairmanship Candidatures

The Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has reserved ruling on a legal suit filed by Fubara Dagogo and others against the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) over the APC local government chairmanship candidatures. The case, led by Emeka Beke, challenges the acceptance of results from the APC primaries held on August 4, 2025.

The court is to determine whether the claimants can seek an injunction to restrain RSIEC from recognizing the results. The APC in Rivers State remains embroiled in a leadership crisis between factions led by Beke and Toni Okocha.
