Hoodlums Attack ADC Office as Amaechi Registers in Rivers

On Friday morning, Rotimi Amaechi, the former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transport, registered with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at Ward 8 in Ubima, Ikwere Local Government Area. During this event, hoodlums attacked the ADC office, setting it ablaze and destroying part of the building, which created panic among local residents.

At the time of the report, no arrests had been made. In response to the violence, Amaechi urged the community to remain calm and avoid further violence, emphasizing that violence could lead to fatalities.

He commended the security personnel deployed to the area for their professionalism and expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police and the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) for their efforts. Amaechi called on law enforcement agencies to act swiftly to identify and prosecute those responsible for the arson, warning that intimidation should not hinder the party's activities in the region.
