ADC State Chapters Reject Lawsuit Against Mark Leadership

State chapters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), specifically from Rivers, Imo, Lagos, and Zamfara, have publicly distanced themselves from a recent lawsuit filed against the party's leadership under Mark. The lawsuit, reportedly filed by chairmen from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the Federal High Court in Abuja, alleges a breach of the party's constitution regarding the appointment of committees for the April 2026 primaries.

The primary plaintiff seeks an injunction to halt the primaries, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also named in the suit. In separate statements issued on Sunday, the state chapters clarified that they did not authorize or approve the legal action, emphasizing that it reflects the position of a few individuals rather than the party's structure.

Jame Okoroma, the Imo State chairman, warned against such litigation, reaffirming loyalty to the national leadership and advocating for internal dispute resolution. Other state chairmen, including Samson River from Rivers and Kabiru Garba Gusau from Zamfara, echoed these sentiments, asserting that the suit does not represent the true position of their state branches.
