NUP Appeals to Rivers Government on Pension Liabilities

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) Rivers State Council has made a formal appeal to the Rivers state government and pension stakeholders to resolve outstanding pension liabilities affecting pensioners in the state. This appeal was articulated by Comrade Sam Eke, the chairman of the NUP in Rivers State, during a press conference held at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre in Port Harcourt on Monday.

Comrade Eke addressed the ongoing crisis within the state council, specifically mentioning the emergence of a splinter group known as the National Association of Retirees of State Government of Nigeria (NARSGON). He urged the government at all levels, pension stakeholders, and the public to disregard NARSGON and concentrate on the pressing issues that impact pensioners in Rivers State.
