Rivers Police Arrest Serial Killer Linked to Bus Driver Murder

The Rivers State Police arrested a serial killer and four accomplices in connection with the murder of 51-year-old bus driver Ifeanyi Abobo. The incident occurred in Ikwerr Local Government Area, where the suspects allegedly lured Abobo under the pretense of engaging him for transport services involving wood movement.

They attacked him with a stick and machete until he became unconscious, subsequently stealing his vehicle. The police spokesperson, CSP Grace Iring Koko, confirmed the arrests on Monday, following intelligence-led investigations by a special operations intelligence team.

Preliminary findings linked the suspects to a series of similar crimes involving the luring and dispossession of drivers. The investigation revealed that the victim's body was exhumed, and the suspects are expected to face charges in court upon completion of the investigation.

Koko warned the public against purchasing items without verifying proof of ownership, as some stolen items were sold for significant amounts, including a vehicle for N2.4 million and a mobile phone for N45,000.
