Rivers State Approves N1.85 Trillion Budget for 2026 Fiscal Year

The Rivers State Executive Council has approved a N1.85 trillion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year, emphasizing the completion of ongoing projects and enhancing public service delivery. Governor Siminalayi Fubara disclosed the budget's priorities, including infrastructure development, social sector enhancement, agriculture, ICT, and strategies to boost economic growth and address unemployment.

The budget's effectiveness will rely on revenue performance, fiscal discipline, and the government's ability to translate allocations into tangible outcomes. The budget structure includes multiple revenue streams, such as federal account allocations, Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), statutory allocations, and other funds.

The aim is to drive economic activities, improve public services, and promote overall development in Rivers State.
