Rivers State to Conclude Trials for Niger Delta Games; Final Event in Edo State

Rivers State is in the final stages of conducting trials for the Niger Delta Games, scheduled to conclude on January 7. The trials encompass sports such as football, chess, table tennis, scrabble, handball, wrestling, volleyball, taekwondo, swimming, powerlifting, basketball, boxing, and weightlifting.

Mr. Ibia Inyengiyikabo, the Director of Sports in Rivers State, confirmed that athletes are fully prepared for the forthcoming games.

The final event is slated to take place in Benin City, Edo State, from February 20 to 27, with an anticipated participation of 3,000 athletes and 500 officials. The games aim to promote grassroots sports development in the Niger Delta region.
