Team Delta Restructures Trials for 2nd Niger Delta Games

Team Delta is preparing for the 2nd Niger Delta Games in Asaba, the capital of Delta State. The trials, organized by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), will take place in Benin City, Edo State, from February 20 to 27.

Team Delta aims to defend its title after winning gold medals in various sports disciplines in the previous edition. The trials will be split into two phases, with the first phase scheduled from February 6 to 8 and the final phase from February 9 to 11.

Athletes will then move to the main camp for the Niger Delta Games starting on February 12. A total of 374 athletes and 51 officials will participate, with various sports like athletics, chess, table tennis, handball, and more included in the event.

The Executive Assistant to the Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, commended the Delta Sports Commission for its efforts in preparing the athletes.
