Rivers United, Barau FC, Doma United Win Season Openers

In the opening matches of the new season, Rivers United, Barau FC, and Doma United achieved significant home victories. Rivers United triumphed over Plateau United with a score of 2-0, thanks to first-half goals from Abdulrasheed Dabai and Wasiu Falolu.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Barau FC secured a 3-1 victory against Nasarawa United. Joseph Atule opened the scoring for Barau FC in the 15th minute, but Abubakar Abdullahi equalized for Nasarawa United in the 25th minute.

Despite missing a penalty in the 65th minute, Atule restored Barau FC's lead in the 78th minute, and Sugau Aliyu sealed the win with a goal eight minutes from the end. Doma United, marking their return to the Nigerian top flight, dominated Sporting Lagos with a 2-0 victory.

Additionally, Bendel Insurance also claimed a hard-fought win in Benin City, while Enugu Rangers managed to earn a point against their opponents after a stoppage-time equalizer from Chibueze Oputa.
