APC Chieftain Ojudu Claims Rivers State May Be Wike's State

Babafemi Ojudu, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former presidential aide, expressed concerns regarding the political situation in Rivers State. His remarks followed the defection of Kingsley Chinda, the former minority leader in the House of Representatives, from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Chinda's formal announcement of his candidacy for the APC governorship ticket was made by Tajudeen Abba, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, during a plenary session on Tuesday. Ojudu criticized the circumstances surrounding Chinda's emergence as the APC flagbearer, arguing that political parties should be built on loyalty and active participation from their members.

He suggested that the recent developments could weaken confidence in the party's structure and discourage long-standing members. Ojudu controversially stated that Rivers State might soon be renamed "Wike's State," referencing the influence of Nyesom Wike, the current governor, within the political landscape.
