RMAFC to Host Oil, Gas Summit in China Next Year to Woo Investors

Nigeria's revenue commission is planning an investment pitch to Chinese firms in November 2026 to attract capital into the oil and gas sector.
An Oil and Gas Investment Summit scheduled for late November 2026 in China forms the centerpiece of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission's strategy to attract capital into Nigeria's energy sector. Revenue flowing through the Federation Account—distributed among federal, state and local governments—stands to increase if the summit succeeds in drawing investment inflows.
Nigeria's vast gas reserves will receive particular focus alongside upstream and downstream opportunities in the oil and gas industry. By taking Nigeria's investment proposition directly to Chinese investors, RMAFC hopes to reverse the decline in hydrocarbon revenue.
Expanding production capacity and improving monetisation of the country's hydrocarbon resource base remain core objectives underlying this approach. Dr. Ekene Enefe, who serves as both Federal Commissioner representing Anambra State and chair of RMAFC's Investment Monitoring Committee, leads these engagement efforts.
His unit is currently briefing relevant government agencies on summit plans and logistical details. Chinese capital sources emerge as the primary focus for channelling investment into Nigeria's petroleum and energy industries.
Foundational to moving toward the November 2026 event are ongoing stakeholder consultations. RMAFC has not yet disclosed specific investment targets or identified which petroleum operators and energy firms will attend.
With roughly two years until the summit occurs, the commission and its government partners retain sufficient time to develop investment proposals and prepare materials showcasing Nigeria's prospects to Chinese audiences.
