Rofiat Imuran Signs with Aston Villa, Boosts Nigerian Presence

Rofiat Imuran, a 22-year-old Nigerian international footballer, has signed with Aston Villa, adding to the club's growing contingent of Nigerian women players. The Women's Super League team announced the transfer on August 31, subject to visa approval, as they prepare for the 2026-27 season.

Imuran joins from London City Lionesses, where she made 10 appearances in the Women’s Super League during her last season. She began her career with Rivers Angels in Nigeria and later played for Stade de Reims Féminines in France, scoring seven goals in 27 appearances.

Imuran was part of Nigeria's squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and made one appearance in the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations. At Aston Villa, she will wear the number 22 shirt and aims to further establish herself in English football while contributing to the team's defensive depth.
