Rose wins play-off as Fleetwood’s PGA wait goes on

Justin Rose secured his 12th PGA Tour title by defeating JJ Spaun in a play-off at the St Jude Championship in Memphis. The Englishman, who had not won a PGA Tour event in two years, held his nerve to clinch victory on the third play-off hole after Spaun faltered.

Rose's win marked his first PGA Tour victory since 2023, while compatriot Tommy Fleetwood's wait for a first win on the tour continues after finishing one shot behind. Despite the disappointment, Fleetwood's strong season has earned him a spot on the European Ryder Cup team alongside Rose, Luke Donald, and others.

Rose's victory also made him the first player over 40 to win a PGA Tour event this season, solidifying his place in the British Masters and the Ryder Cup.
