Rotary International Invests $9.8M to Fight Malaria and Diarrhoea in Nigeria

Rotary International has pledged $9.8 million to combat malaria and diarrhoea in Nigeria. The Rotary Foundation's commitment aims to address health challenges through immunization programs, with a focus on Kebbi State.

Drawing on successful projects in Zambia, Rotary seeks to make a significant impact in Nigeria. The organization highlighted its broader areas of focus, including maternal and child health, disease prevention, water and sanitation, community development, and economic empowerment.

Despite Nigeria being declared wild polio-free, efforts continue to vaccinate children against polio variants. Rotary emphasized the importance of routine immunization to achieve herd immunity.
