Rotary to Honor Humanitarian Icons at Abuja DISCON 2026

Rotary International District 9127 has announced plans to honor three distinguished humanitarian and leadership icons at the DISCON 2026 conference, scheduled to take place in Abuja from May 14 to 16, 2026. The conference will convene approximately 1,000 Rotarians from across Northern Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory.

The theme of the event is "Uniting for Good," which aims to foster friendship and celebrate service. Dame Dr.

Princess Joi Nky Okoro, the district governor, will oversee the conference, which will recognize outstanding humanitarian service and leadership performance within the district. A major highlight will be the introduction of the Rotary Leadership Talk (RLT), a TED-style platform designed to amplify bold ideas and emerging voices.

Dr. Emeka Iloegbunam, the conference committee chairman, stated that DISCON 2026 will showcase the best of Rotary's goals and deliver meaningful engagement across sectors, reinforcing Rotary's role as a trusted partner in national development and citizen-led service initiatives.
