RTEAN Disowns Member's Role in Tinubu/Shettima Visit

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) publicly distanced itself from Alhaji Musa Muham Maitakobi's involvement in a courtesy visit by the Tinubu/Shettima 2027 group, which included Vice President Kashim Shettima. RTEAN Chairman Samuel Agbed stated that the action did not represent the collective position of the association and that no individual has the authority to speak on behalf of RTEAN without prior consultation with its leadership.

Agbed reaffirmed the association's commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Shettima's re-election. He expressed dissatisfaction regarding the lack of broad consultation on issues affecting the association, particularly concerning accountability and management of assets.

Agbed highlighted ongoing disputes within the association related to financial transparency and the handling of federal government transport palliatives, reportedly worth close to ₦1 billion. He urged the government to ensure transparent processes in future interventions aimed at empowering transport operators.
