Russian Strike Kills 38 in Deadliest Attack on Kyiv

A Russian strike on a facility storing artillery in Ukraine resulted in the deaths of 38 individuals, making it the deadliest attack on the capital area, Kyiv, this year. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy confirmed that first responders had extinguished most of the fires caused by the strike, although significant contamination remained, necessitating ongoing cleanup efforts.

Zelenskiy shared footage of firefighters battling blazes and clearing debris from the destroyed buildings. He reported that Russia had launched nearly 2,000 strike drones, over 1,600 aerial bombs, and 31 missiles, including North Korean ballistic missiles, against Ukraine.

Zelenskiy characterized this as an escalating pattern of attacks from Russia.
