Sabalenka Secures Second Miami Open Title Over Gauff

Aryna Sabalenka clinched her second consecutive Miami Open title by defeating Coco Gauff with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. This victory on Sunday marks Sabalenka's fifth win at a prestigious early-season WTA 1000 hardcourt event, joining a select group of women who have achieved this feat, including Iga Swiatek in 2022.

Sabalenka's triumph follows her earlier success at the Indian Wells, where she also emerged victorious. She handed Gauff her first career loss in a hardcourt final, as Gauff had previously won nine finals, including the 2023 US Open against Sabalenka.

The match saw Sabalenka set the tone early with a break in the first set and despite Gauff's efforts to rally in the second set, Sabalenka regained control to seal her victory. Gauff, who faced a challenging month leading up to the final, had to withdraw from Indian Wells due to nervous issues but managed to reach the Miami final after defeating Karolina Muchova in the semifinals.
