Rybakina Advances to Miami Open Semifinals After Defeating Pegula

Elena Rybakina triumphed over Jessica Pegula with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, marking her fifth consecutive victory against Pegula and advancing her to the semifinals of the Miami Open. Rybakina, the Australian Open champion, previously finished as the runner-up at the Miami Open in 2023.

Despite Pegula taking a 4-0 lead in the first set, Rybakina rallied, hitting 15 aces and saving eight out of ten break points. She expressed her frustration but managed to turn the match around in the second set.

Rybakina is set to face Aryna Sabalenka in a rematch of their recent encounter at the Indian Wells final, where Sabalenka emerged victorious. In other matches, Coco Gauff, the fourth seed, is scheduled to play against Karolina Muchova, with Gauff aiming to reach the final and potentially overtake Iga Swiatek in the WTA rankings.

Additionally, Arthur Fils reached the men's semifinals after defeating Tommy Paul in a lengthy match.
