Akume Urges Peace and Unity for Eid el-Kabir Celebrations

On Tuesday, George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, extended warm greetings to Muslims across Nigeria in celebration of Eid el-Kabir. He urged citizens to embrace peace and unity during this significant period, which he described as a time for deep spiritual reflection and devotion.

Akume highlighted the values exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, calling on Nigerians to celebrate with prayers for peace, stability, and progress in the country. He noted that Eid el-Kabir symbolizes obedience and selfless faith in God, which are essential for fostering harmony and strengthening national cohesion, especially amid socio-economic and security challenges.

Akume commended the contributions of Muslims to national development and encouraged citizens to promote tolerance and mutual understanding, regardless of ethnic, religious, or political differences. He further appealed for support of the policies and programs of President Bola Tinubu's administration, emphasizing ongoing reforms that are yielding positive results.
