Yobe Hisbah Bans Public Gatherings for Sallah Celebrations

The Yobe State Hisbah Commission has issued a ban on public gatherings and inappropriate male-female interactions during the Sallah celebrations, effective immediately. This directive was announced by the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Dr.

Yahuza Hamza Abubakar, who described such interactions as reckless and inconsistent with Islamic moral teachings. The Commission emphasized that these measures are necessary for security reasons and to uphold the moral values of Islam.

Furthermore, the Hisbah Commission has suspended any Sallah-related events that contradict Islamic teachings. Abubakar urged community leaders, parents, youth groups, and stakeholders to support compliance with this directive across communities.

He reiterated that public gatherings contradict Islamic moral teachings and the laws guiding Yobe State. The Commission reminded residents of its ongoing mandate to enforce moral conduct according to Shari'ah law in the state.

The Yobe State government, led by Mai Mala Buni, has also intensified security measures during the festive period to ensure peaceful celebrations.
