Sanwo-Olu Inspects Flood Areas, Calls for Master Plan Review

On Thursday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu inspected flood-hit communities across the Lekki corridor, attributing the flooding to heavy rainfall that obstructed natural waterways. He emphasized the need for a review of the state master plan to ensure immediate intervention and relief for affected families.

During his tour, which included areas such as Ogombo, Sangotedo, Chevron Drive, Ajiran in Eti Osa Local Government Area, and Gbetu, Olorunkemi Road, Awoyaya, and Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area, Sanwo-Olu aimed to assess the impact of recent flooding on drainage management efforts. He was accompanied by Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and Secretary to the State Government Abimbola Salu Hundeyin, as well as members of the State Executive Council, to inspect major drainage channels and tributaries affected by the heavy rainfall recorded in recent weeks.

Sanwo-Olu addressed journalists regarding the flooding situation and the need for both immediate and long-term solutions.
