Sanwo-Olu Challenges Opposition to Present Credible Ideas

On September 15, 2026, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu challenged opposition parties to provide credible and superior alternatives to the All Progressives Congress (APC) instead of pursuing change merely for its own sake. Speaking at the centenary anniversary lecture of the Yoruba Tennis Club in Onikan, Lagos, he stressed that Lagos could not afford to abandon successful policies for untested political alternatives.

Sanwo-Olu, who is also the South-West Zonal Coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, stated that the opposition must offer policies that can compete with the APC's governance record. He highlighted the need for continuity to sustain Lagos's growth and mentioned that the APC would campaign on the reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which are showing positive effects in various sectors.

Sanwo-Olu described the "Lagos Spirit" as a blend of courage and self-reliance that has historically driven the state's democratic progress.
