Sanwo-Olu warns against haphazard devts on waterfront communities

Lagos Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, issued a warning against haphazard development in waterfront communities in the state.

He emphasized the need to preserve waterfront infrastructure and tourism development, particularly in areas like Amuwo Odofin and Ojo. The Governor, during a tour of the area, highlighted the significant tourism opportunities available along the waterfront corridor.

Sanwo-Olu stated that the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Physical Planning, and the Lagos State Building Control Agency would work together to regulate and legalize construction in these communities. He assured residents that basic amenities would be provided to improve their quality of life.

The Governor also mentioned plans to connect the communities to the national grid and ensure that proposed tourism activities do not disrupt the livelihoods of locals. Key officials, including the Commissioners of Waterfront Infrastructure Development and Tourism, were present during the tour to support these initiatives.
